Well, webcam started working on Ubuntu in my HP Pavilion dv2000 model.

Here is the details of what did to get the webcam running on using Ubuntu.

$ svn checkout http://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/linux-uvc/
$ cd linux-uvc/linux-uvc/trunk/
$ make
$ sudo make install
$ modprobe uvcvideo

Tested with ‘ekiga ‘ and ‘xawtv’
